    I've shaded many blankets
    Spread hidden beneath my leaves
    Heard young lovers secrets
    Softly whispered on a breeze

The concept itself is so unique, thinking from the view of a tree. All these times, i have only come across poems from our different view for a tree but never the other way around. And yes, a tree has witnessed so much in its life, so many secrets, so much love, so much sadness.
    Loved everything about this poem.
    Great write friend

all the best and take care

I really love nature poems and this one really was touching. You took the aspect of nature and acted like you were the tree and described how it would be through all the years of your life. The poem held some good imagery and I really like the simplicity of the poem. There were also some emotions of sadness and also hope in the verses which made the poem seem more real.

In all I really was taken away with the message you are trying to give and I find this massive trees from old to be blessing to earth. Anyway I think you did a great job describing the tree and also telling it's story. Great job and keep writing

Thanks for writing about a willow tree. I had haven't seen one in years and this brought back memories of those trees I saw as a child. You gave a voice to the tree, brought it to life. Well done.

    Watched the flooded river
As it over flowed it's banks
    Taking many relatives
    Helpless, watching as they sank
    ^^
I love how unique this entire stanza is.
I can visualize the trees being swept away by the waters.
    Such a creative stanza !

I love how this write speaks also of the importance and beauties of the willow.

A cozy hide away for picnics and cuddles and a shelter for baby birds and other critters.

    A wonderful read Cindy

This was full of lovely images, a really beautiful poem that you should be proud of.

    I've shaded many blankets
    Spread hidden beneath my leaves
    Heard young lovers secrets
    Softly whispered on a breeze

    ^^
To say it shaded blankets is a very unique, poetic phrase

    Watched the flooded river
As it over flowed it's banks
    Taking many relatives
    Helpless, watching as they sank

    ^^

a very different image, that makes this tree come alive to the reader, almost as if it were human

    My branches held many nests
    Protection from the storms
While mothers sat on their eggs
I helped to keep them warm

    ^^

this made me smile, how sweet:)

    Standing for one hundred years
Long branches now sweep the ground
Elated the wind blew my seed
    Planting where nature abounds

    ^^^
Powerful creatures they are and majestic too, I like the image of the seeds being blown..

    Well done, Cindy

Some great imagery here of this willow tree, I liked the perspective you wrote it from. It's always interesting to put yourself in the shoes of a tree, perhaps sometimes maybe it resembles yourself and your life as I know you've been through so much. I loved the idea of the branches sweeping the ground, definitely emphasizes the willow tree weeping yet a sense of hope in a way as a new tree is planted, yes? Kind of like a second chance. That's how I saw your ending to be. Excellent, thought out poem :)
