O' mighty Bird in Flight (migratory)

O' fearless high flyer
you soar boldly where others
only dare to look
high above the land
and the mighty ocean below
in the endless blue sky

You look only ahead
to a land that you only can see
chasing your destiny
never to look back
you never pause even to rest
when you know where to go

you lead them on
you show them the way
undaunted through rain, hail or snow
when no one else dares to
you are such an inspiration
to all those in desperation
for you the path is clear
the others just know to follow
when you lead the way
with confidence in your wings

Your head held high, wings beating
never to tire, pause or rest
in your flight to a yonder land
far far away, beyond that the eye can see
where the sky meets the ocean
that no others will dare to go
O' mighty bird lead the way
the flock will follow

    This is an amazing piece! I love the use of description and the continuous use of metaphoric language!
    I like the structure of this poem, it made it a nice and easy read while painting the words you described in my mind very clearly. I feel there are many coded messages underlying this poem such as freedom...
    "in your flight to a yonder land
    far far away, beyond that the eye can see
    where the sky meets the ocean
    that no others will dare to go "
    As the bird can fly and not be limited to what the human I can see.
    I also think there is alot of bravery as well as something to look up to... being a leader and inspirator to those that are not as free as the bird to keep going... I really like this piece :)

    Oh my this poem is amazing. It has such story or meaning, and is penned from the true soul of yourself.Emotion and voice run through this piece like a raging river through a calm valley, in other words fantastic job. The word choice is terrific and it creates some wonderful imagery here and there. Your flow is simple and gets off in a few places, but it always catches back up and that is something simple to make a mistake with. This piece is going to go on my favorites list, I hope you know. 5/5
