What Truly Hurts

by Hopelessly Devoted to You   Mar 8, 2011

Do you know what truly hurts?

When someone walks into your life,
and begins to matter over all the rest,
you trust in that person and so,
that person becomes your best friend.

While time makes its way on by,
you see how your friendship grew,
and here and there you tell them,
how important they are to you.

So you let them inside your walls,
as your guard tumbles and sinks,
until they're part of your life,
sewn right at the very seems.

Then for reasons unknown to all,
they walk right out of your life,
knowing what they meant to you,
leaving a huge hole inside.

And the thing that TRULY hurts,
they left and it doesn't seem fair,
that not only did they leave you hurt,
but knowing they didn't even care.

I agree thats what truly hurts but I love this poem I like this stanza

"So you let them inside your walls,
as your guard tumbles and sinks,
until they're part of your life,
sewn right at the very seems.

I like how you mentioned sewn into this because thats how it goes when you let someone in, either a friend or love....its a tragic poem but you wrote it well :)
