Now I Lay Me

by EchosLastSong   Mar 22, 2011

Now I lay me down to sleep,
I walk on paths that nightmares creep.
I know I'll die before I wake,
Because my soul these dreams do shake.

I lay my head on quilts of down,
In my head the dreams come 'round.
Into the black I start to sink,
Anistesia I start to drink.

I see you like it's yesterday,
The stupid games we used to play.
In your eyes reflect the light,
That made me sing till darkened night.

Like an angel your face was carved,
Apart from you my heart would starve.
Right as we're about to kiss,
And bring me that eternal bliss...

My head snaps up because I wake.
And my happiness these dreams do take.
A silent tear comes falling down,
Onto the pillow and quilts of down.

So

Now I lay me down to sleep
I pray the Lord my soul to keep
And if I die before I wake
I pray the Lord my soul to take
