Just Another Cinderella

by Stephanie Michelle   Mar 29, 2011

A voice soft and quiet,
It trembles and cracks,
A cautious caress,
And craving one back,

Tear brimming eyes,
Are clouded with pain,
Moss coloured accents,
Receiving disdain,

Bones show through skin,
A thin, "pretty" figure,
Fingertips calloused,
A body to wither,

Blood covered sleeves,
And criss-crossing lines,
To mark up the arms,
And blot out the crimes,

Hushed secret telling,
And pourous new lies,
A deep need for someone,
To silence the cries,

Tear streaked cheeks,
And a red runny nose,
Calligraphy etched skin,
The hue of deep rose,

An old folded note,
With corners so tattered,
The tales of one love,
That now has been shattered,

Your faded handwriting,
Is all she will see,
Before unconsciousness sets,
And you're hers in her dreams.
