Buried

by End Of Eternity   Apr 6, 2011

Sitting next to agony
With gasoline in eyes
Crying for sympathy
Burning hidden lies

Anoynmous innocent stars
Twinkling with shame
Whilst gazing upon us
Killing ourselves for fame

Greed for power
With injected lust
Rage embracing crime
Bury future to dust

Introducing fake characters
As trust, religion, desire
Screaming within conscience
With branded soul as liar

Each of the stanza you have written portrays
about the things that is taking over this world,
greed, power and lust..its like destroying everything that is innocent! An excellent write!

So well written. First line sets the tone of the poem nicely. Very relevant to our society and a nice way to describe it.

Nitin :] this was amazing. The first few lines really blew me away. The imagery in this piece was dark in away but very clever. I loved the diction as well. A very nice read from you dear :] -Nik

Nitin, I would never have guessed you wrote this when reading the contest poems. To me it is a different style than you normally use. Your words do speak of the lifestyle of many people today especially those hungry for fame and power and material goods.

This is such a powerful piece. Perfect for what is happening in the world right now.

    Anoynmous innocent stars

How sad and heartbreaking what some will do to get noticed and have power over others.

    Greed for power
    With injected lust
    Rage embracing crime
    Bury future to dust

Killing the future for the next generations. Makes you cry thinking about all that is happening.

Excellent job on this one yaar.
    Love Cindy
