Maroon.

You've left me crestfallen
inviting fruit flies to feast on
an overripe love,
for you've migrated elsewhere
when I wished to
fasten myself to you,
offering amity in form of
a sanctuary left frail with
your goodbye.

A very moving poem that I find describes the feeling of losing someone you really care about. The words make the reader feel your sadness and also how you long for this person. I am moved as I always am but for some reason this poem speaks soo much more to me and it might be due to the fact that I am with someone and this poem shows me what it would be like without them. Strong lines with strong emotions.

All in all, I found this to be a open poem that is really pouring out your heart and I also found it to be a very good vent. Many who have experienced this lost can relate well and your words make me very sad. Also I am glad to see that you are, as always, using your poetic skills to their full ability and I can't wait to see what you have next. Great job and keep writing.
