Suffocation of the Grave

by Cinnamonspice   Apr 23, 2011

Suffocation as if buried alive,
weight of loneliness baring down
crushing the life from my body.
is this my future?

The sun shines brightly and yet
darkness surrounds me like a shroud,
warmth seeps from my body
leaving me cold as a grave.

My face wet as my heart begs
for companionship of another,
a hand that reaches out for me
in love and need.

I wait in silence and in prayer
that this isn't all there is,
wishing for more than solitude
someone that feels as I do.

  • I have too much to discuss with you about this poem. Remind me, if I haven't already done it, to tell you how you just described 90% of my days in more detail.
