We danced

by Lucy   Jun 4, 2011

We danced
two left feet, introduced on the pale carpet,
dissolved in this love, blinders on, we are consumed.

we tripped over our posts
striving for the other
we touched like we just sprouted fingers
we graced heaven with our hands
as we danced

we moved IN LOVE
two right feet leading the way
opposite directions
for the same ultimate goal
and we got there
like two drunk sailors
classless, we danced

we danced, like we were the only ones alive
in your mothers living room
dancing under our stars
we created night and day, that night
we created feel, and see, we created kiss and be heard.
Our spins and crushed toes were Gods, that night we danced.

and the milky way has nothing on your beauty, nothing on your mystery, the universe tangled in my hair and all around your person. we moved with serenity across Jupiter and mars, like aliens to "sit still and be calm" sisters and brothers to "move with your soul" invited to grace each other upon Saturn's rings and the fire the sun. with our energy, movement was created in the presence of the saints, that night, we danced.

you danced with me like i was the angel you had made deals with the devil for, and i took your hand like i was falling off a cliff, my life line, my savior, as you spun me and held me next your beating heart, i found my home, that night we danced.

and as we trampled the floor, stampeding so gracelessly, love expressed through our limbs, and all over the walls, pursuing the other with love and respect, we made magic out of temptation, that night, we danced
