"I'm Fine"
the most commonly repeated lie,
the answer to a thoughtless question.
They ask how you are doing
but expect an easy answer.

"I'm Fine"
the more you say it,
the more you believe it.
It's eating up your heart
piece by piece, it becomes hollow.

"I'm Fine"
Widen the aching half smile
and laugh at silly jokes.
You can convince the world,
but convincing yourself is the hardest.

"How are you?"
people ask this question daily
but the answers could be false.
They may never even know
how you are anything - but fine.

    I bet this poem resonates in the hearts of more people than you'd hope.
    Very outright and simple in your portrayal, definitely get the point across lovely, loved the ending, very true. I know I've felt exactly as you've painted more than once.

    This poem was amazing! I loved the stanza where you described the feeling of being hollow very nicely done. It relates to all people because we all have felt that way before. Great job. :-)
