An Empty Nest

by H E Losey   Jun 11, 2011

There,
The tree
Majestic;
Across the road.

Upon a brown branch,
Bestowed, a small nest .
Battered from wind and rain,
Abandoned and distressed,

Hidden, almost, by the Autumn leaves.
T'was once a proud but humble abode,
Now just an empty nest across the road
