Empty riposte

by Daisy if you do   Jun 30, 2011

I did not greet the sun this morn
the moon and stars were my keep
We pondered o'er hurt and anguish
that caused my heart to weep

They didn't have much input
only twinkling back at me
Just listening to mine
plus a thousand other dreams

I told them of my sorrows
in search of a resolution,
No answers came once asked
through celestial contribution.

My soul was bitter and questioned why
could love have caused the pain?
Never answering, never nodding,
they only twinkled once again.

What a thoughtful Poem, your words are
beautiful DD, and you are always very open
    but, "on gaurd".

I love the understanding of this piece.....the tough nights you question past motives or actions, and the coming of love, if any of that is the problem here.

The rhyme was somehow comforting, trying to grasp something in that night, a message from the stars but the continue to twinkle again, looking down at you....at least a companion.

Wonderfully written....light and colored with pieces of sorrow and a saddened reality that hits your heart.

    God bless you.

Wow, Kay, this poem is beautiful. It had a sorrowful twist that was pulling at my heartstrings the entire time. The rhymes were light and easy, they meshed together very well. I've read this over three times now, and I love the rhythm, I'd say that has to be my favorite part.

Your opening is so intriguing and strong, and so sad. It's like those nights you cannot fall asleep, you're tossing and turning and just can't settle yourself down. I loved the image you created here, and found myself easily relating to every bit of this poem.
