False Fantasy

by Aurora Dubnyk   Jul 16, 2011

Oh baby I know it hurts
But please ignore the red
Only concentrate on black and white
I'd take the pain away
But I'm sure I'd just make more
I know its rustic and metallic
But it runs smoothly only in you

Please keep your distance
My heart may stop in an instant

Don't tell me I am beautiful
I only have so much restraint
Don't tell me you love me
I only have a dozen secrets
Don't say your goodbyes
I only have so much control
Don't look into my eyes
I only want to hide the lies

I want to tell you how I feel
But the scars need to heal
I want for it to be so real
But you steal away my zeal

That crippling feeling
The void between my lungs
That endless emptiness
The seal of lips when you are gone

Can you forget I ever existed?
Can I be whole again?
Can I leave the heartache behind?

In the fall of an angel
The scent of her wrists eluded me
The smell of a fantasy I would never have

Can you learn to love me?
