Dancer

by Yakari Gabriel   Jul 28, 2011

I felt the need
to dance last night..

for it had been a long time
since I last danced with words

and they've been circling
in my head,
adamantly saying
that I have to step on the dance floor

although,
they
fail to realize
that I do not have the time..

that when the moon sets in,
all I dream of are
oceans of hope and tranquility

I do not feel like hanging
beneath disco lights..

But instead,
I grabbed their hands..
and we danced to this piece.

Lol, don't pay too much with your newly found freedom :P and it seems like you have partied a lot these days :P, lol, kidding aside, love this poem a lot. I can tell from this piece and its structure and word choice that as a writer you have already grown and moved on to further your skills. :D Nice :D

I love this! I know you've been saying that you've been wanting or needing to write or having ideas, as have I. Sometimes poetry lives within us, sometimes we live through it.

    "although,
    they
    fail to realize
that I do not have the time.."

This piece hit my life spot on, I have all these things I want to do, write and say, if only these words would realize I do not have the time to write them now! Amazing poetry, Yaki :)
