Moral Solace (completed as a collab with A lonely soul)

by Cinnamonspice   Aug 16, 2011

Wise is the man
who gives from the heart
heeding not recognition
or the glory of his peers.
Reveling only in the joy
of moral solace.

Unwise is the man
who takes all, gives to none
bigoted and mercenary
ostentious of his prowess
for his deeds of plunder
are memoirs kept by none

I am honored to have" A LONELY SOUL" adding to my poem. Thank you so much :-)

I like seeing both parts because it shows the difference between the wise and the unwise and it makes the message even clearer. When I first read the second stanza, I sort of knew that it was from lonely soul. It has his style but I wasn't sure until I finished reading the annotation. well done the flow of is amazing.

I love how there are two sides to this poem. One description of a person who has good morals and who is wise. The other who is unswise and does things more for recongnition than for being what is in their heart and the right thing to do.

Two stanzas but each is powerful.

    Reveling only in the joy
    of moral solace.

I love this - it makes me think of a person being humble!

The two contradicting verse are very well written. And the words chosen, inscribe the depth within such short stanzas.
