You Were There

Between broken bones
Busted lips
Bumps and bruises
You wiped away
A million tears
For every moment
I needed you near
You were always there
Moments I wasn't quite myself
You noticed the frustration
And jumped in every time
To rescue my smile
Through troubled teen years
You witnessed bad grades
Some silly boys
And teenage heartaches
That came and went
The pangs of puppy love
Tore apart my young soul
But I could see
That it really hurt you too
Growing pains grew worse
With school and work
Bills and rent
You pushed me through
And advised as I grew
Even let some bad decisions go
So that I could learn
Next time to say no
Or learn to just walk away
For all the moments
You thought I didn't see
I could see you Momma
Standing right beside me
About to be a mother myself
I promise I will strive to be
Everything you've been to me

    There's nothing like a Mother's Love... always there for ya whether good or bad... as you shall soon find out.
