In A World of Lust

by Kips   Aug 29, 2011

Covered with shame of lust.
Endowed with beauty unaware,
Shattered by thoughts unscrupulous;

Distorted by attempts to meet with the best,
But disturbed with fear of loosing it all.
This lead him into making many lovers,

Yielding to fear of being caught by any among all,
Grieving so hard to break no heart,
Daunted by uncertainty of hope of being loved.

Having a lot of 'em to think about,
Having a lot of 'em to cater for,
Having, virtually, enough in other to win an award.

Gradually, everything is getting out of hand!

Trying to frame things up...
But, Oh! No, Tracy has got to know Benita,
And even Rihanat has got to know Ajoke.
What a big trouble for the ladies' man!

Many hearts are already broken,
Loosing all and none is chosen,
Gaining nothing but all is taken,
Failing greatly, remaining not even a token.

Only because he lived in a world of lust.
And everything he had got rust,
Everything he once enjoyed got lost,
Just because he lived in a World of Lust!

As usual, I like the message. But I didn't think the capitalisation in some parts of the beginning worked, it somehow disrupted the flow. And the subtle rhyming in the end quite frankly ruined it for me. But seeing as this was written about a year ago,I can really see the big improvement. Typo on losing by the way. Still a great read though. Keep it up :)
