MY LOVE

by Nowhere Man   Aug 30, 2011

My Love, you're a cup of hot brown coffee,

an addictive smoke that comes from my cigarette

in a delightful beginning of the day.

Much prettier than sunrise in the east;

the morning mist that caresses my sight.

You're the breeze in my cheek

that brings the feeling of summer at noon,

lighting up my senses when I'm about to yawn

in every sleepy hour that falls.

You glow beautifully through the sunset,

reflecting thousands of color in the horizon

that even the best of all mortal artists

might adore and claim you as his masterpiece.

And then at night, you become my faith

chasing all my fears and doubts 'bout the future;

the sweetest song that lulls me to sleep.

You're the air that comes in and out of my nostrils....

keeping me alive to see another day.

    Beautiful write, I loved the use of wording full of strong emotions from the heart. The first line is captivating and impacts the rest of the poem. Very strong, great length. Keep it up. 5/5
