Indian Summer.

by Courageous Dreamer   Oct 11, 2011

I watched you -
a heart of bereft love,
through sullen winters
and archaic summers,

then autumn came along
piercing your last hopes with doubt,
'til the sun cast you 'neath her spell,
ginger spice swirling, scented with October
like cinnamon nestled in a sweet roll.

It was as appetizing as his love -
the sunlight she wished to bathe in forever,
bursting with reverie.

He was the Indian summer
she always wished for
yet never got
...'til now.

- For the lovely Ms. Sunshine, Nana.

Good poem but still in your comfort zone get out of that zone and take a risk your poetry is becoming predictable

You have evolved so much as a poet, Temps. It is great to see. :) I really enjoyed reading this. Don't have any critique, I loved it.

It's been a while since reading your work. I can only say it's even better now than before.
