Insect Devotions

by sibyllene   Oct 12, 2011

Limbs folded back in
fiendish prayer, she twists
a saffron hammer head over
her leaf-green body. She
gives herself stoically to
her mate. It is brief and
necessary. Pleasure comes
afterward, when she'll devour him
greedily, voluptuously,
as a late breakfast.

Aren't praying mantis' such a strange thing? That's the first thing I want to do, devour my love for breakfast.

Oi, that sounded much different when you're speaking about humans... forget I said this lol
