Handed off. (not done.)

by Black Heart Still Beating   Oct 14, 2011

Put off,
Just a moment more,
How unfair.
When they cry,
do you retreat?
Yes!
Somewhere where there is only a whisper of the voices.
out the door, into the blue,
you go, far away from those
who need you to be there,
to bandage the wound.

Put down,
when you juggle so many other things,
you put them down,
down fall the children,
the strong independent children who had no other choices but to be.
Strong
Independent.
When they fall,
they will surely shatter hard,
jagged spikes,

Handled wrong
are the shards.
You blame the children,
when your blood is shed,
How to put them back together,
when your hands are still moving,
still occupid by other things.

You, are not right.
To pass off,
like a blazing torch,
someone so close to you.
now someone elses concern.
Someone you carried in your womb.
Are you not strong enough to carry this weight?
The weight of responsibility.
Can you not handle the burden of this?
