Forget Him Once Again

About to leave for a run,
shutting the door,
turning around bumping into him,
speechless, heart sounds pounding,
never again did I think I'd see
the one person who destroyed my heart.

Trying to walk away,
he grabs my arm saying
"Please hear me out, Its all I ask,"
barely able to mutter a fine lets talk,
he starts to speak,
thinking to myself oh how i missed this voice.

I messed up, I let you go, walk out of my life,
its been months since we've talked,
honestly, my love for you never faded,
it grows more & more each day we don't talk,
please, I'm begging you give me one more chance.

Tears fall from my eyes,
seeing the sincerity on his face,
I shake my head saying "No, I can't,
I'm so sorry but you hurt me so bad,"
his voice quivering as he says
"please baby girl, I need you in my life,"
Trying to remain strong I look up at him
going you should have thought that
before you broke my heart into pieces.

Walking away,
I can hear him drop to his knees yelling
out my name & saying he's sorry,
stomach churning from this pain,
vision blurry as can be,
can't believe he came back to me,
but knowing deep down inside my heart,
this can't ever happen again.

Hoping I didn't make the wrong choice,
I start my run,
needing to clear my mind,
and re forget him once again.
