Breaking Me, Fixing You

I would be wiping your
tears, laying beside you
on the bathroom floor,
helping you to get over
one more girl that's not
me.

I would be holding you
so tight when you lose
control, soaking all the
anger that you feel inside.
Just take in all the rage
from you until I fall down.

I would be a shoulder for
you to lean on when life
shows you its other face.
I give you strength only
to see you stand up on
someone else's side.

You would be looking but
you never see me, you knew
I would always be there for
you. But you failed to notice
that you were breaking me
every time I'm here to fix you.

    Meme I love this! The title caught my eye, and the story you told in this poem was touching. It is very relatable... the idea of helping someone and devoting time to take care of them, when they don't reciprocate your feelings... really nicely done. Great job sweetie!
