Unveil Yourself

by PinkyPrincess   Dec 8, 2011

Remove your sunglasses
let me see your damp eyes
so I can attempt to read
the story you have hidden

Take off that fur hat
that conceals your sorrow.
Show me a glimpse of you
to understand your pain.

Undress your long coat
that hides every inch of you.
Your bruises are transparent,
even without visible scars.

Move your lips and attempt
a meaningful yet forced smile.
Remember that you are not alone
and that life will change if you believe.

Let go of your desolate disguise
and unleash your true, beautiful self.

Excellent job, this was amazing, from word choice, to flow, the feelings were just impressive. there was this strength in your tone, tho it sensed sadness too.

a great mixture, u should be very proud of this piece.!!!!

This is a lovely poem. I like the message you conveyed which is to open up (be open minded) to new ideas so that those ideas could make a positive change in our lives. But also that if we don't seek help or say what is troubling us then how do we expect others to know? So there is always hope for everyone to turn their lives in a positive way as long as they fill themselves with courage and also that they really need to want the change.
