Beauty Within

by Italian Stallion   Dec 10, 2011

In a world so shy and blue
round about no flat we go.
Swimming in eternally-
flushed...out comes us.

In a world so affectionate yet rude
comes and goes, cycling through
life, death, and even you.

But in the end there it flies
swarming about with nothing in mind.
Vivid it's wings, bright gold and black
enjoying a life so pure and free.

Touching earth it does land
seeking love, kissing blossoms.
Full of aroma where he flies in the air
delicately hovering beautiful as can be...

...a hummingbird in plain view of you and me.

I love the symbolism of the hummingbird which you portray so well Joe, inside your poem- resurrection and rebirth. Everytime I see one- I am sure they are from the other side bringing us this message. I was face to face with one and it looked like a big moth with a beak, staring right at me and instantly I think of those who have passed. Loved it Joe. Take Care
