The story

by tainted melody   Dec 13, 2011

Allowing my mind to wander,
I begin to write the words.
Over characters I ponder,
realistic or absurd?

What will the story entail?
When will it begin?
Will the villain fail?
Who will be the heroine?

Happily ever after?
Or sadness in the end?
Maybe filled with laughter?
Nonfiction or pretend?

Will my readers cry?
Will they finish with a smile?
Will there be goodbyes?
Maybe struggles and trials?

Readers hearts beat faster?
As intensity grows high
Will there be disaster?
Will the falling fly?

Will they really say'I do'?
Or will they fall apart?
Will chaos ensue?
Will he steal her heart?

As I put pen to paper,
I decide her love will pass.
Will she let it shake her?
Will she fight back with sass?

The possibilities unending.
Which will I choose?
My decisions still pending.
Have I given you clues?

Now you must wait,
for the story I've described
You've taken the bait.
The book will soon arrive!

Wow! You have every reason to be proud of this poem. I loved it! The whole idea of it and the words you chose it just flowed amazing and I am actually going to put this in my favs. It is different from your normal style but i think it is amazing and very artistic. Telling a story about a story. I think that classifies as brilliance. ;-)
