Goodbye Aquarius (Kyrielle)

by Maple Tree   Jan 6, 2012

Haunted by your divine shadow
Scented trails of stale tobacco
Fingers become dark fixations
Sorrow sings, raindrop flirtations

Heart lost, broken, disappointed
Finding it's way home, anointed
Dying bouquet, white carnation's
Sorrow sings, raindrop flirtations

Lost, alone, by the cobble stone
Held prisoner by cheap cologne
last kiss, false gratification
Sorrow sings, raindrop flirtations

Oh this is interesting, again it can be read in many ways. There are a few lines which I relate to through abuse and it is like the abuser is being described here.

    Haunted by your divine shadow
    Scented trails of stale tobacco

    - this especially made me think of this, how a victim feels even years after being abused.

I realise this is probably not what you had in mind while you penned this but this is what I pick up from it. Right to the point of sitting alone like a prisoner.

such a powerful poem. well done. x

I usually find repetitiveness weak, but not on this one. Good job.

    This is my favorite,
