Sweet Dreams

by Maple Tree   Jan 11, 2012

I become the dark of night
as the abyss swallows my vision
a pale, hallow, mass of emptiness
when the clock strikes ten pm.

Stale lips nibble upon polyester shields
pupils dilate on moon lit diamonds
casting an aura of exhausted thoughts
on a one way collision with dancing sheep.

sweet dreams....

This is like an adult lullabye. you can feel the tiredness and after you read it you wonder what thoughts you will get now when you next sleep and think of sheep! x

Captures the moments and sensations of falling asleep perfectly along with the delightful visions that must occur afterwards. I hope when I fall asleep into that certain night, it is the sleep of such sweet dreams as this!

    Hi
Simply good, I am happy it wasn't some rams, just soft sheeps. Counting sheeps is good even in dreams

    Best Regards

    PERFECT!
First - the beginning felt so enticing, and the descriptions are awesome. It's like a subtle rhyme there when you ended with ten pm. I like how it sounds.

Second - holy sheep! the incorporation of 'sheep' felt at ease.. and ending with sweet dreams also.

    great one:)
