Aluminum Wings

by Maple Tree   Jan 16, 2012

There is a small tin can
diagonally placed from my vision
protecting me from the silent killer
that visits my dreams of peace.

Within the cavity is a cinnamon kiss
laced with a crocheted silhouette
designed to dance around a dark room
as my guardian spirit of grace.

I have become lost within an hour glass
drowning in pebbles of iridescent sand
only a matter of time before I stop breathing
at that very moment, I shall reunite with the contents

and fly away on my aluminum red carpet....

That stanza is beautiful. Crocheted silhouette unique and creative.

    Thank you for the clarification!!

now I understood the 'glass hour' and the matter of 'time' .... it seems more interesting now.

Maybe we age, but our souls can still be young as a 5 years old.

    Great

Though I do not grasp the exact meaning of this, but I love your figurative language and how you connect ideas.
