How to Heal a Wound

by PinkyPrincess   Jan 24, 2012

Walking hastily on a Monday morning,
without a glance at anyone around me.
Stressful thoughts alert my mind,
and I barely notice a cut on my hand.

A small cut, bleeding profusely,
with a hint of stinging pain.
An hour later, still applying pressure,
the deep wound continues to bleed.

I apply an antiseptic cream
and cover it with a band-aid.
Somehow my inner bruises glow
and there's no such band-aid to use.

As I sit in a room filled with strangers,
diverse people from around the world,
I realize everyone has wounds and bruises;
some physical and visible, while others internal.

Perhaps these scars will remain hidden and unseen,
and there will never be a band-aid created to heal them,
but strength, love and determination will mend the hurt,
and we will be able to recover from our deepest wounds.

Very true indeed; no aid can cure deep wounds, only the will to claim victory always through the help of ones folks. With unconditional care and concern, one can survive any emotional setback or engraved physical scars. Keeping faith ever strong and been optimistic is the key to peace of mind. The imagery is very vivid, playing each stanza like a motion picture. An exquisitely inspiring poem, very thoughtful and heart warming. I can feel the fear through the words, then a glimmer of hope to end it all, happily ever after. Keep it up! take care :-).

You have penned down a beautiful piece that had me thinking deeply. With a simple wound, you wanted my mind to other things. This was my fav stanza, just loved how you ended it with hope and faith or recovering though you might have been in pain. We as a people need to have hope and faith and well.

You know this kind of reminds me of when we're sick or stressed, it can take us longer to heal if we don't take care of our emotions.

There is a connection and you have written it well!

    Awesome job hun
