Two Become One

by John   Jun 25, 2004

On this night, our first time,
The love in two hearts is expressed
In the union of our bodies.
I take her hand and guide her
Up stairs to a room lit by candles.
Kissing, caressing.
Then undressing.
Though exposed, vulnerable, trust wins
And my eyes admire beauty I never thought lucky enough to see.
First her turn, then mine.
Finding everything right and perfect,
Like we've been here before,
Telling us we are ready for this.
Feelings build in excitement and anticipation,
As I accept her invitation.
Our eyes meet, those beautiful eyes, and I fall in to them.
Two have now become one;
How we've felt all along in our minds,
But only imagined in our dreams.
Bodies move, synchronized
The rhythm building feelings into a wave,
and giving in, they crash down,
Exchanged by contentment.
We greet each other on the other side
With smiles reflecting the happiness and love just shared.
Our bodies mold together, neither wanting to let go
Of the unity that had just been.
And though the rising sun signals mournful separation,
These two hearts remain as one.
