Hope for a Better World

by Meena Krish   Feb 4, 2012

We are not beings of fairy tales
rather we are as plain as nails,
we claim to be wise in every way
but do not know everything the sun portrays.

We state to be the strongest race of our kind
yet are frail both in body and mind,
we believe to be peaceful and care for all
yet wage war against others building a wall.

The poor are scorned by their fate
can we not change their state?
The rich are pampered with all they want
spare their wealth to do good why can't?

Animals struggle for their life
why do they have to face the knife?

Earth can be an improved place
if mankind shows solace,
make better all that was wrong
rather than letting bad things stay strong,

Insightful, laced with humilty and idealism, as should be from a young mind. Poetic creativity inherited in the genes.

    I love this stanza~

We state to be the strongest race of our kind
yet are frail both in body and mind,
we believe to be peaceful and care for all
yet wage war against others building a wall.

The "wall" must go down- as you're main goal...it's reality indeed! great work! 5/5!

    'Like Mother Like Son' :)

Today's generation is more occupied with games & themselves. Reading a poem with world's problem & a hope in end....well that surely gives us a hope too. He must continue and share some more soon.

Am glad you posted it under your account.

    Poem of 2012 indeed.

all the best and take care
