Beautiful (Triolet)

by Maple Tree   Feb 10, 2012

Marigold moonbeams consume me
Authentic kisses laced with love
Sunsets breathe on a coral sea
Marigold moonbeams consume me
Emeralds shine on dragon trees
Secrets whispered from two sweet doves
Marigold moonbeams consume me
Authentic kisses laced with love

A Triolet is a poetic form consisting of only 8 lines. Within a Triolet, the 1st, 4th, and 7th lines
repeat, and the 2nd and 8th lines do as well. The rhyme scheme is simple: ABaAabAB, capital
letters representing the repeated lines.

Make writing a Triolet more challenging! Make each line 8 syllables in length

    What a lovely imagery ...
    //Marigold moonbeams consume me
    // how lovely... the analogy with marigold is so creative :)

    /Sunsets breathe on a coral sea
    // I adored these lines ... you have described the sunset with such breathtaking imagery :)

    //Emeralds shine on dragon trees
    // I loved the use of dragn here... again very creative and impressive.

    This is a lovely triolet, with beautifully expressed words. Your poem is equivalent to the title, beautiful! Your words were well-chosen, I like this format. The use of repetition is important to this form, and your repeated lines were exquisite.

    It was a true joy to read. Well done! :)
