The Sunshine

by Jad   Feb 20, 2012

Our shallow hearts have died
in the embrace of winters love
and even our silent cries
are forgotten up above.

Yet the brilliance of the sun
cascades hope in our hearts,
because when we feel outdone
we are kept from breaking apart.

The cascading yellow rays
tell stories of survival and hope
as the spring lies and bays
for the coming day of rebirth.

So my Sunshine fall down
and envelop this bleak soul
for I know within silent sounds
we all can be made whole.

I love how you divided this piece with two opposite emotions (sad-hopeful) and two different seasons (winter-summer). The subtle rhymes worked for me and the ending was kind of in between.. it can be interpreted as a sad/happy ending.
    Excellent piece 5/5 :)
