Too Many Times Broken

That feeling of moderate happiness
Does not last very long
When you hear some hurtful news
That happiness is then long gone.

You start to painfully feel
The shattering of your heart
Piece by piece it falls
And you pray for a new start.

Not wanting to accept the fact
That he was a player after all
You sit at your bedside
And silently start to bawl.

You thought he would be the one
That could make your life complete
But you should have noticed the sings
Of lies, treachery, and deceit.

He straight up told you
That he is not the relationship type of guy
But you thought you could change that
With just a blink of an eye.

You knew you would get hurt
If you tried to change the facts
So why did you get your heart involved
Why didn't you just retract?

Too many times broken
Shattered from here to there
Guys taking every advantage
And leaving you in total despair.

You thought that you learned
To keep your heart from getting involved
Listen to what your head says
Even if your thoughts are unresolved.

But can you really blame yourself
For the guy leading you on
Maybe it is a two way street
When it comes to getting your flirt on.

You think he will want you
If you put on a little show
But what you didn't realize
Is that you couldn't say "No".

He may not be the perfect guy
But he's perfect in your eyes
What else really matters
Except for the silent little lies.

Maybe things will work out
I just hope for nothing but the best
As for now I am turning away
And putting my mind and heart to rest.

I think this is telling the friend's feelings to the friend that got hurt, and I think it's quite relatable I know I wish I could give it to my friends since they always seem to date losers, myself included needed this poems when I was younger and dated more losers than I can care to remember. 5/5

The title itself says it all, well done.

However it may be depends upon us if we would allow ourselves to be broken / or simply shall I say if we continue living with such negative outlooks in life rather than having a positive outlooks in our lives.
