Traffic light cycled
no one moved yet no one honked
all busy texting.

In Syria, there are strict rules you can never dream to break. Dad once was driving us home, and there was an emergency with me, LOL, so he madly accelerated and the nice police man stopped him and fined him. I know this has nothing to do with your poem, lmao, but you just reminded me of that accident. They all yelled at me by that time, haha. I always text my friends when I'm in the car with my friends or parents. I don't drive (of course I don't, because if I did, Syria would be like debris by now, haha) But I can understand your frustration, the traffic jam is something so annoying and popular here in my country. Good poem!

It is illegal here in NSW everywhere (I am sure the other states as well)

If you are caught with your car parked and engine still on using your phone, they will book you. I think people get away with so much these days. They should have harsher punishments for those offenders who speed and run red lights etc...

I don't want to lecture you Larry, your much wiser than me, though when I was 13 I was knocked down crossing the road on a pedestrian crossing when the lights were red as the driver was using his phone and didn't stop in time.

It should be illegal everwhere, I agree.

It's only illegal in certain places here, such as school zones. It should be illegal everywhere if you're moving, but then you'd lose your dear old godfather to the pokey.

Made me smile when I read this Larry, sooo true, though it's illegal to use your phone in the car in the UK, is that the case in the US?

Short and funny, a unique senryu
