Poetry Obsession

by Maple Tree   Mar 10, 2012

I have an obsession with poetry
a domination that seeps through
the pours of my salty, ink pen skin
fingers dance upon tear stained canvas.

I resort to comforting delights, my elixir
to keep my insane thoughts harnessed
for fear has overcome me, I don't wish
to be devoured by the ending of a period.

My writings are set free from chains
freedom to run away from colons and
the venom of an exclamation mark,
I have an obsession with poetry....

Mmm.. Quite an original read. I like the title and how you defined your obsession. But the last stanza was the best in my opinion, i like how you said you should run away from colons!!! At many time, i find myself struggling not to use punctuation a lot. And the venom of exclamation mark.. That's cool. I like this a lot.
