Wishing upon a Sigh at Dusk

by Maple Tree   Mar 14, 2012

I asked the sun
In a delicate voice
If he would grant me
one wish.

He whispered softly,
heated breath comforted
a warm and soothing
response.

Meet the moon and I
upon my violet aura,
between the time of
an elegant departure.

Metallic rays of night,
mixed upon a bated
sigh of my final exit,
your wish shall be granted.

Looking high within the sky
a shooting star crescendos
dew drop eyes start to cry
looking behind my shoulder.

My lover smiles and waves at me
resting within limbs of a maple,
his autumn gaze Intoxicates the soul
and the pain becomes a faded memory....

This reads like the fairy tales I read as a child, I especially like the last stanza

My lover smiles and waves at me
resting within limbs of a maple,
his autumn gaze Intoxicates the soul
and the pain becomes a faded memory....

I could somehow see this in my minds eye and feel the yearning in your heart..

    Very nice work!
