Big Sister

As many times as I have fell, you have always been there
One of the few who has always been willing to care
I have not always been the best brother there could be
But through it all, you were, without a doubt, there for me

I thank God for having been blessed with a sister like you
I doubt anyone else would help me as much as you do
I know I couldn't have come anywhere close to this far
Even collecting horseshoes and clovers, or wishing on a star

If it wasn't for you constantly looking after me
My strongest supporting branch of our family tree
Through all of the mistakes made and things I've done
Unconditionally loving and caring for me and my son

Through all the cuts and bleeding that's passed through our lives
Grew a bond stronger and sharper than all of the knives
I owe you more than I could ever really say
But I'm here for you until the end of days

    Stanza 1
    A very well written introduction to a wonderful piece. Loved how you let your sister know that shes always been there for you, in your times of despair and when you were down with no one to pull you back up. Though, you have treated her badly or not been there for you, she never left your side.

    Stanza 2
    God blesses us in so many ways and it seems you know how he blessed you. Its nice and good to be thankful and you have definately done that in this stanza.

    Stanza 3.
    you continue to thank her for the things shes done for you, not only you but your son as well. i never saw this coming. It seems she sees the good in you and doesnt care about the bad things coz shes always there even if you might do bad things.

    Stanza 4
    i love how you end this great tribute. You assure her that you will also be there for her. For someone like me who has an older sister who has been there for me countless times, i really enjoyed this piece and i will dedicate it to her on her birthday if thats okay with you.

    Your relationship with your sister is amazing. This poem is amazing it feels real and right. Your words were carefully tendered from your heart, and deep within the very core of you.
