The Pleasure of Doing What You Please

by Jaymi Lynn   Mar 15, 2012

I've held my deepest breaths in the shallowest waters
and I can not say that I've missed vast oceans that
cover the globe like dark skin on my flesh.

To say that I regret not falling in love
while the moon shown bright
and hid more shame than I,
would be cursing my tongue that dared not touch
his lips on that very night.

If I should have ever shown mercy on those who
layed pressure on my soul and dangled temptation over my spine,
let them speak now and I, of course,
shall apologize for not giving in to such things
that shape the human eye.

But who am I to not let shapers shape
the world as they please: by all means,
take in deep breaths, I will not judge you.

If you want to reminisce in the moonlight
and sip red wine while the flesh of
another is close to your touch,
I refuse to stand in your way.

I have grown in and out of shells and have left them
hollow to shelter those who most use them well...

...and this is the path that, if you don't mind,
I prefer to dwell.

Life is a graph work of options. What we make our choice, controls us. We simply become what we've learned.

From beginning to the end, it captivated me. I love the way you use words and create something so beautiful with them. This truly is an amazing piece :)
