A beautiful tribute to the Irish folklore of the Leprechaun's and their pot of gold buried at the end of a rainbow, for St. Patrick's day. I am struck by its simplicity and the message it carries here:

"Excuse me tiny, little one
where is your pot of gold?
smiling sweet, tapping his feet
whispers "don't believe stories of old.

Silly woman don't you know?
the treasure Is In your heart
close your eyes, feel the love
you've had riches from the start.... "

Yes, each one of us aspire to find that elusive "pot of gold'. But should we not first look in our own heart first, where that "gold" may be hidden...the love we can give to others and the love we get from them. This gift of "gold" that each one of us harbor within us, is God given, but lucky are a few who know how to find and share this "pot of gold" with others. So, I find the little Leprachaun in your poem suggesting to find the pot of gold (=love) in your heart, so meaningful.
After all, chasing after the elusive "pot of gold" at the end of a distant rainbow (fool's gold) is truly an exercise in futility, so aptly implied in here.

This poem is just in time for Saint Patrick's Day sets the tone and deliver's a strong finish. Reflecting the truth within in a myth is a quality I am most impressed with.

This was such a great poem. It was very cute. I loved the little leprechaun used here. And I thought it was a great mesage to others. That It's not finding riches. we can look and look forever if we want. But the true riches are definitely inside. You expressed that very well in this poem. All in all a great job. :)
