Forgotten Memories

by Lady Nik   Mar 19, 2012

For so long I've been here
trying to make the
best of what life throws
my way. I don't want
to anymore. No more
struggling for the
dissatisfaction of being alone,
no more late nights wishing
you'd come back to me.

No more of anything.

For too long I've
let my life waste away
behind these memories.
Life has forgotten me
but I can't forget you.
It's not fair and it's
not okay that I love you
this way.

It hurts me to think this
but you thought it years
ago...

give me back the heart
you stole.

*Thanks for the title HvN*

Full of emotions. Words coming from a bleeding heart. Could feel pain from every single word. Very nicely expressed.

all the best and take care

The 2nd verse is beautifully written and holds such pristine meaning that it evoked tears to fall from my eyes before I could stop them. As for a title, might I make a suggestion? How about "Forgotten Memories" to signify the lost of memories one had before a tragic time and or happening occurred, a time that was once lively and happy. Anyway beautiful poem Nik, 5/5.
