My War

by Chris   Mar 19, 2012

I've been chewed up and spit back out
Beaten every which way I look
Made several rounds through the meat grinder
And yet here I continue to stand

My legs maybe wobbling beneath me
And my arms continue to shake on their own
But I'm nowhere near finished in this war
I'm slowly learning my lessons

I was nothing short of naive
Forgiving every wrong when it happened
No matter how many daggers they placed
No matter how many times I was left alone

So even with my strength fading fast
I'll draw the line in the dirt around me
Even with my faith disappearing
I'll continue to be at war with the world

My friends may have turned their back to me
But I will not move from my beliefs
Even after I'll die I'll keep on fighting
To make this world a place to be proud of

This is a really good poem. It shows your strength and passion to keep on living when your world is dark and nothing but a bully. Very inspirational for me... thanks for enlightening me. Definitely one of my favorites.

i really this stanza. Just says of what you have been through and how you have always endured to rise on your feet again. Really creative and wise choice of words.
