By His Side

Softly weeping as he begins to die,
she begs hime not to leave her side.
But words can only do so much,
deep down she knows it's not enough.

She grasps his hand with strength unknown,
her love and hearbreak clearly shown.
She cannot even comprehend,
that a life without him she will spend.

An ocean forming from her tears,
unstoppable as her growing fears.
This kiss may be their very last,
memories flooding of their past.

She whispers ' I love you', in his ear,
just then his heartbeat dissapears.
The silence now is drowning her,
she doesn't think she can endure.

Her fingers slowly trace his hand,
then settle on his wedding band.
She vowed 'til death do us part',
thinking that was just the start.

But sickness would soon interfere,
in little more than one year.
This enemy would take his life,
and leave alone his loving wife.

    That is so emotional, I almost broke down into sops, those words joined together in such a materpeice and without doubt from a very loving heart, filled with heartflt words and dreams up ahead!

    This was amazing! It was so good you could actually picture what was happening & felt the emotion as well. I think this deserves to be published and think it's very well written, you definitely have some talent as you already know. :p great job! :)

    This was a great poem. A lot of emotion displayed through affection between the two lovers here. Also told a story of their life just by this poem. Nice write. :)
