If Love can Age, Why does It Never Grow Old

by Glenn G   Mar 28, 2012

You left this morning
A true beauty to behold
I wanted to kiss your lips
But feared I was too old
I wanted to take you in my arms
Hold you so tight
Turn all your sadness
Into a joyful delight
I wanted to give you the one thing you've been denied
A tender shadow of love to never leave your side
I wanted to shelter you like a tent in a storm
Make the coldness of life cozy and warm
I wanted to feel the life inside of your womb
Take you away from this empty old tomb
I wanted to caress your sweet tender lips
With the soft gentle touch of my finger tips
I wanted to tell you everything will be alright
'Cause I will love you for the rest of my life

A fantasy or a wish, I really don't know
But the feelings never leave me, the love never goes
I know when the night comes
To bring the day to an end
I will still be in love
With my most beautiful of friends
