When Guidance turns to Cruelty

by Chelsey   Apr 12, 2012

Knees buckling together, collapsing her to the floor
her mind destroying every ounce of hope
that she genuinely believed in

In need of assistance to regain her strength
The only hero in her story decides to show up
Proving he was never her hero after all
Just seeking one thing-
Her purity, her innocence

The almighty, romantic Casanova
Breathing sweet fragrances that work like spells,
Hypnotizing her to his fatuous touch
Believing he is her motivation
Ignoring the reality of it all-
He is her relapse

He guides her into a dim lit bedroom
two glasses of delicate red wine
await for her guzzling
Creating way for illusions
to disintegrate her brain cells
Giving him the chance to start his cruelty

Be careful who you trust.

I loved what you were trying to portray in this poem, the meaning behind the poem. The idea that we need to be careful of who we trust. A well written poem that has made me think of the people in my own life, the ones whom I've never been able to trust.

    Good write,

I just have to say that I enjoy reading it from beginning to end but the last lines to me sounded that it needed a bit more info to arrive to them.

Or may be I just got sank in the poem that I wanted to read more.

Overall, a good write. I like your choice of words. Casanova was one of those.

EDIT: By last words, I mean the message But be careful who you trust.

This poem is amamzing, I love the raw emotion spilled onto it, I love dark poetry more than I could write it lol so this was defnitly a good poem, You really should watch out who you trust, .. . you've written that out so poetically, i just love this stanza

    The almighty, romantic Casanova
Breathing sweet fragrances that work like spells,
Hypnotizing her to his fatuous touch
    Believing he is her motivation
Ignoring the reality of it all-
    He is her relapse

I love the use of relapse here, awesome poem once again :)
