They Tell Us

by Samantha   Apr 14, 2012

They tell us we can be anything,
That the sky's the limit to find our dreams and cling,
They tell us allot lies,
They don't mention the pain in goodbyes,
They don't tell you before you win you'll lose everything,
They don't care to say when you sin that you kill a little of the sting,
The biggest myth of all,
The tallest of tales that made me build walls,
They never said love could hurt you so bad,
That in the end we're all dead and we can never come back

I agree, "They never said love could hurt you so bad,
That in the end we're all dead and we can never come back"

they never tell us that love hurts, but thats what we are left to believe. i loved your poem. even though the things in life hurt, we have to live on. thats always hard. i still havent mastered it yet. keep up the great writing.
