Untitled*2

by Shades of Gray   Apr 17, 2012

You think you know what it's like.
But you haven't got a clue.
Day, night, and in my dreams,
I am battered, broken, and bruised.

You think you know of all my pain.
You don't want to understand.
The pain just keeps on coming
From supposedly caring hands.

I can't tell you the truth.
It stays locked away inside.
The truth must not be seen
By the millions of prying eyes.

I can't tell you the reason,
But around me there's a wall.
It's there so no one else can watch
As I trip, stumble, and fall.

I've never met their standards.
They hold them oh so high.
If I met them I'd only be
A trophy or a prize.

I've never been the perfect girl.
So instead I'm scarred for life.
I tell you my story as I hold
This already blood-red knife.
