You make it easy to write

My thumbs are looped around your belt loops
as you lean against my car under a moon lit sky
Fire flies and June Bugs prance around the street light
Similar to how I dance, when I look at the luminance of your face

In those moments, you know the ones?
When we gaze into the sparkle of each other's eyes
So deeply that I see myself in the reflection of your pupils-
reminding me how happy I look that very second

Darling, it makes me so weak in the knees
so tingly in my fingertips, there's a stirring in my stomach
And a masterpiece is waiting to flow out of me,
one of which only a poet would understand

Because you see, I want to compare your kisses
to the morning dew softly caressing a single blade of grass
And I want to describe your hugs like the way
the sun presses its body against the black top

I could not romantically speak metaphors to you
So as you appear in my review mirror
My mind has already began to write heartfelt,
amorous lullabies and poems of adoration

You make it easier to write
When you leave your breath upon my lips
and your heart imprinted on my soul
