Addiction

by Hannah Lizette   May 8, 2012

Spinning
Floating
Melting
Sinking
Such a body high.

Cheerful
Psychotic
Enraged
Sullen
So many feelings combined.

Once you start,
There's no turning back.
You crave it more, more, more...
Until your body aches.

You adore it, yet resent it.

Nonexistent feelings,
Temporary high,
Love is limited,
Your life is controlled.

Tht's how an addiction feels, thought there are different types of addictions. Some that people may not even consider to be bad but an addiction of any kind controls our life. Your poem opens awareness, and it amazes me how your style improved. Keep it up.

This to me seems like artistic propaganda like your trying to get a vague message across, i like this one a lot because that is exactly how addiction feels. awesome write

  • My interpretation is that this is a sort of comparison between love and addiction. Showing the differences whilst also showing the similarities. Is that right?
Anyway, another fantastic write. You av described addiction and love just excellently.
